Managing terms & conditions, AVE, and readership data

1 min read

When adding or maintaining a source on the MT Connect platform, there are mandatory fields and rules around what information you can edit depending on the status of your listing.

  1. Mandatory fields when adding a source

When you first add a source, you are required to fill out key fields, including:

  • source name
  • country
  • price
  • terms and conditions

If the listing has not yet been activated, you can edit these fields freely.

  1. Editable fields for active sources

Once a source is active, certain details can still be changed to keep your listing accurate:

  • listing name (e.g., correcting typos or reflecting a rebrand/name change)
  • top-level listing (if the source was not placed properly during upload)
  • readership data (update as circulation or audience changes)
  • ave values (update to keep advertising value equivalents current)
  • additional metric fields (add extra metrics you want to provide)
  • price
  • terms and conditions
  1. Fields that cannot be changed

Some fields are fixed once the source is active because changes would imply it is effectively a different source. These include:

  • country
  • language
  • type (e.g., newspaper, magazine, radio)
  • distribution (e.g., national vs. local)
  • frequency (e.g., daily, weekly)

If you need to change any of these, you must deactivate the existing source and create a new one.

  1. Price and terms & conditions updates
  • price changes:
    • for profiles with a fixed duration, the original price remains until the end date.
    • for ‘keep active’ profiles, the new price will apply after one year.
  • terms & conditions changes:
    • clients currently using the source will be notified.
    • they must either accept the new terms or remove the source from their profile.

By keeping your readership, ave, pricing, and terms up to date, you ensure transparency for buyers and maintain the accuracy of your listings on the platform.
