Search Profiles in MT Connect are used to manage your content profile requests, allowing you to search, review, and control your active subscriptions for sourcing media content from suppliers based on your defined search queries.

From the Search Profile view, you can:

• View all profiles, or filter between active and inactive.
  
• Use the search bar to find a profile by: profile name, source name or supplier.

How to Create a Search Profile #

1. Go to the Search Profile view.
2. Click the Add Profile button.

3. In the Add New Profile window, fill out the required fields:

• Profile Name
  
• Search Query (keywords or terms to find relevant content) <link to How to create a search query? >
  
• Active Period:
  
  • You can choose a fixed duration and set an end date (the end date must be at least 3 months after the start date)
  • Or choose to create a running profile with no fixed end date

4. (Optional) Add Tags to your profile:

• Tags help organize profiles and make invoicing easier.
• They allow you to see invoice subtotals per tag rather than per individual profile.

5. Adding sources to your search profile

After setting up the basic details of your profile, the next step is to add sources.

• Move to the Source tab inside the profile setup.
  
• Here, you can load one or more saved source groups directly into your profile.
  
  • Example: You may have a source group called Irish Dailies. If your search only needs general news and excludes sports, you can load the group and then remove irrelevant sources (e.g., sports dailies) before saving.
    

This flexibility allows you to reuse existing groups while tailoring the profile to your specific needs.

6.  Profile saving

• Once you are satisfied with the list of sources, click Save & Activate or Save as draft if you would like to work on it more before activating.
  
• Sources from Premium Providers will be activated immediately with no waiting required.
  
• For sources from other providers, you will receive an email confirmation. The supplier will then have up to 48 hours to activate your profile request.
